We, at Millenium Stables, breed top quality horses and ponies. Our goal is to produce a quality horse that is well mannered, understands its job, and is personable. We handle our foals from day one so that they are not only comfortable with people but enjoy being with people.
We also accept horses into training that are looking for a new career and home. We spend just as much time and energy on them as the ones we breed. Once arriving at our farm, we let the new arrivals spend time in their field and stall. We introduce them into a routen that all the horses seem to thrive on. Training starts once the horse appears to be comfortable with his new surroundings and is able to focus on his new career.
Our babies formal training starts with basic halter work and walking and trotting on a line. We like to take our time introducing rope halter work, lunging, and most importantly, ground manners which something that is worked on all the time. At age appropriate, we begin introducing the saddle and finally a rider. Flat work is key to overall performance therefore quality time and effort is put into this phase. Once age appropriate and flat work is consistent, jump training begins.
Our horses are exposed to all types of environments; from a trip to the vet when they are babies to hanging out at a schooling show so that they can get use to the “show” environment. Our hope is to train a horse/pony that has been exposed to as many environments as possible.
